Our Process

Know what happens next, before you commit.

A business decision, an IRS notice, or an estate in your care can raise questions that deserve more than a rushed answer. Our process begins by understanding what you need, determining whether we're the right fit, and agreeing on a clear scope of work.

Begin with a 5–10 minute questionnaire. Qualified prospective clients are invited to schedule a complimentary 30-minute virtual Discovery Chat.

Before an engagement

Three steps to an informed decision.

You should know what our involvement would look like before agreeing to professional services.

1

Tell us what's happening.

Complete a short questionnaire and select the service that best describes your situation. Share the concern, relevant deadlines, and the help you're looking for. You don't need every document ready to begin.

2

Discuss fit and next steps.

If your needs appear aligned with our services, schedule a complimentary Discovery Chat. We review the information you provided and discuss the nature of the work, urgency, and whether additional evaluation is needed.

3

Understand the engagement.

Where we can help, we explain the proposed scope, responsibilities, and investment. Some matters require a separately scoped paid review before a resolution or planning recommendation can be made. No professional work begins without an agreed engagement.

After engagement

The work follows the problem—not a one-size-fits-all timeline.

The initial conversation is similar across our services. The actual work, records, deadlines, and level of involvement depend on your circumstances and agreement.

IRS & Tax Resolution

Received a notice, fallen behind on returns, or need to understand a tax balance?

The next step may be a review of notices, account history, filing status, deadlines, and available options. Representation and resolution work are defined after the relevant facts are understood; taxing-authority actions affect timing and outcomes.

Estate, Trust & Legacy

Administering an estate or trust, or facing decisions about transferring wealth?

We identify the tax and reporting questions within our engagement, relevant dates and records, and any necessary coordination with your attorney or financial adviser. Filing and planning work depends on the assets, parties, elections, and applicable deadlines.

Working together

Less back-and-forth. Clearer responsibilities.

Good work depends on both sides knowing who is doing what. Once engaged, we'll explain how records are requested, how communication is handled, and what you can expect under the agreed scope.

  • A designated point of contact to coordinate the agreed work and bring in other team members when needed.
  • A secure client portal for documents, questions, and ongoing engagement communication.
  • Remote meetings to support clients across the United States.
  • Defined scope and responsibilities so additional work is discussed rather than assumed.

Timely records, authorizations, and client decisions remain important to meeting agreed deadlines. Service specifics are governed by the engagement letter.

Common questions

Before you get started.

Is the Discovery Chat a tax or accounting consultation?

No. It is a complimentary conversation about fit, the broad nature of your needs, and possible next steps. Individualized professional analysis and advice require an appropriate engagement.

Do I need to gather everything before contacting you?

No. Start with the questionnaire and share the most important facts, including notices or deadlines. We'll explain which records are needed if the matter moves forward.

Will I know the investment before starting?

We explain the scope and investment for a proposed engagement before work begins. Some complex matters need a paid evaluation before the broader scope can be determined.

Will the process take 90 days?

Not necessarily. The 90-Day Pathway to Prosperity™ refers to onboarding for ongoing Business Solutions plans. IRS and estate or trust engagements have their own schedules, shaped by the facts, records, outside parties, and deadlines.

Your next step

Start with your situation. We'll discuss whether we can help.

Tell us what brought you here, what needs attention, and what you're hoping to accomplish. The questionnaire helps us route your inquiry and prepare for a useful first conversation.

The questionnaire and Discovery Chat do not establish a client relationship or provide individualized professional advice. Submission does not guarantee an engagement. Corridor Consulting LLC is a CPA firm based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, serving clients nationwide.
